Akin Agar

Akin Agar is a technology executive and consultant with expertise in leading high performing teams in financial services. Akin had a seven-year career as the Chief Information Officer at VyStar Credit Union, one of the largest credit unions in the country. Previously, he held technology leadership roles at EverBank and NetBank, heading software engineering teams and driving innovation and growth. He received a bachelor’s degree in economics from Marmara University and an International MBA from the University of South Carolina and the Vienna University of Economics and Business.

Akin serves on Compeer Financial’s Enterprise Risk and Legislative Affairs Committees. He is also active in the community serving as a board member at the Jacksonville Symphony. Other boards on which he has served include Northeast Florida CIO Council, CUNA Technology Council, FIS MISER Advisory Board, St. John's County School District IT Advisory Council and PSCU Technology Advisory Group.

Akin was appointed to the board in 2021 and his term expires in 2025.
