Compeer Financial Grants
Sun Prairie, Wis., (October 19, 2018) – More than 160 rural emergency services agencies are receiving a portion of $450,000 in grants from Compeer Financial.
The Emergency Response Equipment Program is provided by the Compeer Financial Fund for Rural America. The program’s mission is to support rural communities in Compeer Financial’s territory by funding emergency response equipment for volunteer fire, rescue and ambulance departments.
Grants are funding a variety of needs, including updating communication equipment and purchasing new protective gear, thermal imaging cameras and portable medical equipment for first responders.
“By helping get these first responders the tools and equipment they need, they can better serve our rural communities and farms,” said John Monson, chair of the Compeer Financial Fund for Rural America Board of Trustees. “Ensuring that all aspects of our communities are well-equipped to serve all of their citizens is important to our cooperative, clients and team members. It’s where we work and live, too.”
Compeer Financial plans to offer the Emergency Response Equipment Program annually, with the application process being open during the month of August.

Clover Township Fire Department – partnering with five other departments to purchase a fit testing machine and donate to Western Illinois Firefighters Association.
Cuba Fire Protection District – to purchase rubber supply hose for our primary response apparatus.
Dakota Fire Protection District – to purchase a portable foam system, nozzles and LED lighting equipment.
Dale Township Fire Department – to purchase a gas detection meter and thermal imaging camera.
Dallas City Fire Department – to purchase thermal imaging cameras.
Elba Salem Fire Protection District – to purchase boots.
Flanagan-Graymont Fire Protection District – to purchase EMS/rescue equipment such as a handheld pulse oximeter and spine boards.
Forreston Fire Protection District – to purchase fire hoses, nozzles and a thermal imaging camera.
