Compeer Financial Accepting Nominations for 2022 Food & Agribusiness Award
Award recognizes advocacy, innovation, outreach and service in food and agribusiness sector
Sun Prairie, Wis. (March 15, 2022) – Compeer Financial, a Farm Credit cooperative based in the Upper Midwest, is pleased to announce the opening of nominations for the organization’s second annual Food & Agribusiness of the Year Award. The award recognizes and celebrates large-scale businesses in the food and agribusiness sector who have shown great leadership in the areas of agricultural advocacy, client service, community outreach and innovation.
Nominations are now open and will be accepted through April 30, 2022 at compeer.com/food-ag-award.
Nominees must meet the following qualifications to be eligible:
- Businesses in the food and agribusiness supply chain, including processors and manufacturers in food and beverage, fiber, bio-fuel, grain merchandising, ag inputs, logistics and more.
- Have annual revenue of $5 million or greater.
- Conduct the majority of their business within Compeer’s 144-county territory in Illinois, Minnesota or Wisconsin.
- Businesses s are encouraged to nominate themselves, but can also be nominated by others who are connected to the business.
In additional to traditional ag lending, Compeer Financial also provides specialized financing, backed by an experienced team, for all types of large-scale food and agribusiness companies and is proud to honor leaders in the industry with our Food & Agribusiness of the Year Award.
Compeer Financial understands, and celebrates, the vital role food and agribusinesses play in rural America, providing a necessary link to help farms thrive and ensure the entire value chain continues to move forward. These businesses also enhance the vitality of rural America in a pivotal way, with a variety of employment opportunities and support for rural development that helps to build resilient rural communities.
In 2021 Compeer Financial presented the Food & Agribusiness of the Year award to Alsum Farms & Produce, located in Grand Marsh, Wis., a vertically integrated operation focused on growing, sourcing, packing and shipping many potato varieties, as well as onions, pumpkins and other fresh fruits and vegetables.
The 2022 Food and Agribusiness of the Year recipient will be notified in May 2022 and will be invited to Compeer Financial’s Food and Agribusiness Conference in June 2022, where the winner will be revealed and highlighted.
The winner will receive a cash prize of $10,000 and will also be highlighted in a video telling their story. The news will also be shared via a press release, social media posts and an article in Compeer’s Cultivate Magazine.
