Sai Thao is a senior lending specialist at Compeer Financial, where he focuses on supporting farmers in emerging markets. His role involves providing a range of services, like creating business plans and offering guidance on securing financing for agriculture and food businesses. Having grown up cultivating, harvesting and selling vegetables at farmers markets, Thao brings firsthand experience to his role.

In addition to direct engagement with farmers, Thao collaborates with various public, non-profit and private organizations to generate innovative program ideas that benefit emerging markets farmers. He holds a B.A. in American Ethnic Studies from the University of Washington and an M.B.A from City University in Seattle. Thao has also undergone training from the Agriculture Lending Institute, Craig School of Business at California State University-Fresno, National Development Council and Risk Management Association.

Beyond his professional responsibilities, Thao contributes to nonprofit boards and committees, showcasing his commitment to community involvement and making a positive impact in his field.
